小林太市郎
京都・西陣。かつて絹織物で栄えたこの町の一角に、聚らくは佇んでいます。築150年、かつて西陣織を商う家であったこの町家は、一人の哲学者を世に送り出しました。その名は小林太市郎（1901–1963）。
西陣織の家に生まれた太市郎は、京都帝国大学で哲学を学び、西田幾多郎に連なる京都学派の思想に触れます。その後パリへ渡り、帰国後は神戸大学教授として、日本・中国・西洋の美術史を横断する研究に生涯を捧げました。和漢洋の垣根を越えて美を見つめ続けたその姿勢から、彼は後に「東洋のブルクハルト」と称されるようになります。
聚らくが大切にしているのは、この町家が持つ歴史的な価値だけではありません。「日常の和を、ありのままに。」
茶道の一服、書道の一画、だしの一滴、酒の一杯—。聚らくで出会う体験はどれも、身構えることなく、わかりやすく日本の文化にふれていただけるよう設計されています。
